Andreas A. Alexandrou, CPA, is a Director/Shareholder at Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman, with 15 years’ experience in auditing and consulting for tax-exempt organizations.

Mr. Alexandrou's expertise includes audits and internal control reviews of nonprofit organizations including associations, private voluntary organi­zations, private foundations and other charitable institutions. He also specializes in compliance audits for organizations (domestic and international) funded by the U.S. Government, and is versed in the OMB Circular A-133 requirements applicable to entities that receive Federal funding from the U.S. Government and other pass-through agencies.

As Engagement Partner for several of the firm’s nonprofit organizations with international operations, he travels abroad to oversee the work performed by local audit firms in various foreign countries. Mr. Alexandrou also travels abroad for his clients to perform audit work and review local field office internal controls and compliance with headquarters’ policies and procedures. Some prominent international clients, which receive funding from government sources, include CHF International, Relief International, Tostan Inc., Internews Network and the Global Partnership for Afghanistan.

Mr. Alexandrou earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at the University of Maryland.
