Walter H. Deyhle, CPA/ABV/CFF, CFFA, CFP is currently the director of Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman’s tax and financial planning division. He and his staff provide in-house computerized preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, estate and trust, and nonprofit tax filings. In addition to tax compliance matters, Mr. Deyhle addresses particularly complex tax issues with clients concerning investments, estate and gift taxes, succession planning and allocation of financial resources.
As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Mr. Deyhle is qualified to offer comprehensive financial planning services including analysis of and recommendations on cash management and budgeting, risk management and insurance, funding for children's education and retirement and estate and investment planning. He is currently a member of both the Tax and Financial Planning Divisions of the American Institute of CPAs and belongs to the Financial Planning Association.
Mr. Deyhle has been involved in the business valuation process for more than 15 years, utilizing his expertise for mergers, acquisitions, liquidations and reorganizations, divorce settlements and litigation, estate and gift tax planning, public offerings and buy-sell agreements.
He completed the certification workshop in Family and Owner-Managed Business conducted by Horwath International. He has been a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers since 1995 and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) since 1993 and is a former member of the Maryland Association of CPAs Business Valuation/Litigation Support Committee. He received his designation as Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Mr. Deyhle received his designation as Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the AICPA and as a Certified Forensic Financial Analyst (CFFA) by NACVA.
Mr. Deyhle has valued many types of businesses including government contractors, international financial holding companies, wholesale distributing companies, retail stores, professional practices, consulting firms and partnerships owning real property.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland and his master’s in Taxation from American University.
