John R. Pace, CPA, CVA
Client Services Partner
John R. Pace, CPA, CVA is a partner at Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs. As a partner in the firm’s client services department, he is responsible for overseeing the full range of outsourced accounting services, overseeing the majority of the firm’s review and compilation engagements, and consulting and compliance for the firm’s nonprofit and forprofit government contractor clients. He has worked in accounting and finance since 1998, providing attest services, business valuation services, consulting, and general accounting services to many different types of entities.
Mr. Pace also provides assistance to GRF clients as a temporary controller/chief financial officer, with duties such as cash flow planning and analysis, financial performance analysis, and budgeting and analysis.
For both nonprofit and for-profit government contractor clients, he prepares and analyzes indirect rate calculations, incurred cost submission proposals and negotiated indirect cost rate agreements (NICRA). He provides forward pricing and proposal support and analysis, incurred cost audit and accounting system audit support, and guidance related to the proper treatment of government contractor-specific accounting issues. Additionally, Mr. Pace assists clients in the development of compliant accounting systems, and performs accounting system examinations and CAS compliance engagements. He works with clients to review and develop government contractor accounting policies and procedures. He has experience with the FAR, CAS and other regulations related to government contractors.
He is also involved with GRF’s business valuation practice and holds the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He assists clients with the valuation needs of privately held entities for use in GAAP compliance, estate tax, stock option plans, divorce proceedings, buy/sell, etc. Mr. Pace is familiar with several financial management software applications. He has completed the George Mason University “Contracting with the Federal Government” Certificate Program.
