Trevor W. Williams, CPA

Trevor W. Williams, CPA has worked with audit functions, contractual compliance rules, regulations, policies, procedures and accounting operations since 1996. He manages the overall planning and administration of audit, review and compilation engagements, as well as the preparation and review of financial statements. Mr. Williams was an active participant in the firm’s implementation of the latest Statement on Auditing Standards concerning the assessment and response to audit risk in a financial statement audit. Additionally, he assists and supervises staff on audits of nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and entities that are recipients of federal financial assistance programs.
Mr. Williams is responsible for all aspects of client service and engagement administration, which include interacting with clients (and their boards) to plan engagements and suggesting best practice recommendations to improve the client’s accounting processes and internal controls. He oversees budgeting and audit staff to ensure the efficient completion of fieldwork. Mr. Williams’ responsibilities also include executing audits for nonprofit organizations in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America, Government Auditing Standards and the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance) and/or OMB Circular A-133.
He previously served as an internal auditor and audit supervisor in the Mayor’s Office of Community Services in Philadelphia where he performed compliance-related audits and provided financial technical assistance to over 20 delegate agencies.
Mr. Williams has written case studies, white papers and presented on various topics concerning nonprofit organizations. His corporate experience, combined with more than two decades of expertise in public accounting, provides his clients with a broad understanding of financial management issues from both public and private perspectives.
