Walt Derengowski, CPA, CFE is a manager with Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman and has been with the firm for more than nine years. Mr. Derengowski has concentrated his skills in the specialized field of audits of nonprofit organizations including associations, private voluntary organizations and other charitable institutions.

He performs and reviews staff fieldwork on major audits including compliance with OMB Circulars A-110, A-122 and A-133. His responsibilities include interaction with client staff and management to ensure the efficient completion of fieldwork and report preparation.

Mr. Derengowski’s expertise in field office audits has taken him around the world.  He identifies risk areas, validates financial statements and reviews field office compliance with headquarters’ policies and procedures for nonprofits with international operations.
