Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman Nonprofit Tax Principal Richard J. Locastro and Senior Audit Manager Trevor Williams presented on effective audit and tax planning strategies, and reviewed auditor and organizational management responsibilities. Items of auditor consideration included areas of emphasis, systemic indicators and examples of management letter comments. Tax planning highlights included an overview of Form 990 stakeholders including the IRS, charity evaluators, funders, competitors and functional expense statements.

Mr. Locastro and Mr. Williams discussed how to rate your nonprofit organization based on these audit and tax considerations as well as others such as compensation and governance.

The presentation was hosted by the Center for Nonprofit Advancement.
