Download This Publication

Nonprofit tax principals Stephen J. Kelin and Richard J. Locastro provided an in-depth analysis of the structural changes anticipated on IRS Tax Form 990, as well as three guiding factors behind the redesign including:

  • Enhancing transparency
  • Promoting compliance
  • Minimizing the burden for filing organizations

Mr. Kelin and Mr. Locastro also explained when nonprofits will be expected to utilize the new Form 990 and provided a review of the core form including different schedules. This presentation was hosted by Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman several times throughout 2009 due to strong interest.

This was my first time working with auditors and I was bracing for a tough audit and tax experience, but Jim Larson and his engagement team were very patient, kind and accommodating in breaking down their complex questions into layperson’s terms I could understand.
