Richard J. Locastro, nonprofit tax principal at Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs, has been appointed to serve on the American Institute of CPAs Exempt Organizations Taxation Technical Resource Panel (TRP). This prestigious panel consists of 10 volunteer members who are in practice and considered experts in the field.

The Tax Technical Resource Panel does not have an assigned list of projects, but rather serves the nonprofit community by advocating sound tax policy and effective tax administration. The panel monitors legislative and regulatory activity regarding exempt organizations and suggests modifications to simplify and clarify provisions that relate to these organizations while providing them with information, articles, and the tools they need to improve their operations. Materials produced by the panel included practice guides, checklists, comment letters and general tools for practitioners.

Richard will be appointed to the panel for up to three years and with his appointment reevaluated on a yearly basis.
