GRF Discusses Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in CPAmerica Advantage

Members of GRF CPAs & Advisors’ (GRF) leadership team were interviewed about the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) for the December issue of CPAmerica Advantage. The article explains how GRF launched its DEI initiative in 2017 before workplace culture grabbed the spotlight around the country this year following the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and the Black Lives Matter protests. GRF’s leaders describe how DEI has now become part of how the firm does business.

With many operational challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, some public accounting firms may be reluctant right now to launch a new initiative and focus on DEI. While empathetic, GRF’s leaders urge firms to take up the charge and prioritize the changes desperately needed. They cited the dismal number of new graduates applying for public accounting positions and rapidly declining enrollment in accounting programs across the country. Read the article.
