The Center for Nonprofit Advancement is now accepting nominations for the Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman 2013 Excellence in Chief Executive Leadership (EXCEL) Award. Three winners will receive a $5,000 professional development account. In addition, each awardee’s organization will receive a $2,000 grant to provide professional development opportunities for their staff. Up to two honorable mention recipients’ organizations will receive a $1,000 award to support professional development programs for the candidate and his/her staff.

Eligible candidates:
- Must be an executive director, chief executive officer, president or other chief employee, and must have held this position for a minimum of three years as of May 31, 2013
- Are salaried, full-time (minimum 35 hours/week)
- Work for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the Washington metropolitan area with a maximum annual budget of $10 million
