Mr. Williams brings his dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion to two prominent Washington, DC professional societies
Bethesda, MD, June 23, 2020 – GRF CPAs & Advisors (GRF), a full-service professional services firm providing clients with audit, tax, outsourced accounting and advisory solutions, announced today that audit partner Trevor W. Williams, CPA has been elected to the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA) Board of Governors for the fiscal year beginning July 1. Mr. Williams was also recently re-appointed to the FAR Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 fiscal year and will assume the position of Treasurer.
“Trevor’s service to GWSCPA and FAR is a reflection of his commitment to the accounting profession and consistent with GRF’s emphasis on giving back to the community,” said Jackie Cardello, GRF President and Managing Partner. “As the co-chair of GRF’s Diversity and Inclusion initiative, he will be a tremendous asset to both boards where he will share the experience of his work on important diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.”
Mr. Williams has worked in public accounting since 1996. He works with nonprofit and government contractor clients and has extensive experience with audit functions, contractual compliance rules, regulations, policies, procedures and accounting operations. As a partner, Mr. Williams is responsible for all aspects of client service and engagement administration as well as developing, mentoring and leading staff at all levels.
Mr. Williams is a graduate of Temple University with a BS in Accounting. He is a past board member and Treasurer of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, and he has recently completed his first term as a board member of Finance and Administration Roundtable (FAR) in Washington, DC. At GRF, Mr. Williams is actively involved in recruiting and is the founding chairperson for the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion initiative. He lives in Bowie, MD with his two teenage sons.
FAR (formerly the Finance & Administration Roundtable) is the DC area’s only association dedicated exclusively to nonprofit business leaders since 1983. The membership currently represents over 200 organizations and over 60 prestigious companies serving the not-for-profit community. Established in 1983 as the Washington Association Financial Management Roundtable, FAR provides great speakers and professional development in a relaxed environment. Not-for-profit professionals come to network, exchange ideas, share information, and stay informed about the latest issues, trends and news affecting their organization.
The mission of GWSCPA is to promote and support members and the CPA profession through education, advocacy and community. Membership in the GWSCPA is open to all accountants holding valid CPA certificates from any U.S. State or Territory, as well as non-CPA accounting and financial professionals from government, not for profit associations, academia and other eligible categories. The society channels its activities in part through more than 10 professional interest sections, committees and task forces. Committees are designed to help members in their professional practice and career advancement. Approximately 300 members are actively involved in sections or committee work, ranging in scope from accounting principles to professional ethics, from industry and government accounting to business and personal tax.
