Indirect costs play a key role in achieving full cost recovery on grants and cooperative agreements, and an indirect rate is how you recover those allocable indirect costs. Have you ever struggled to understand how indirect rates work? Paul Calabrese, Principal in GRF’s Outsourced Accounting & Advisory Services, will walk you through the Uniform Grants Regulation theory behind them and the mechanics of how they’re constructed.

This session will also cover the most widely used indirect cost rate proposal templates for obtaining a Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreement (NICRA) with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of the Interior, along with four allocation methodologies.
