For the second consecutive year, GRF held its popular ESG Summit with leading experts in the Environmental, Social, and Governance field. The group shared their knowledge on complex ESG risks, legal challenges in DEI initiatives, successful ESG strategies, carbon offset projects, and the latest financial accounting guidance for environmental credits.
This year’s program emphasized the continuing relevancy of ESG. Kicking off the event, GRF Partner and Director of Risk & Advisory Services, Melissa Musser cited the Institute of Internal Auditors’ global survey of top risks which identified ESG-related risk as the third most pressing risk globally over the next three years.
Overview of Environmental, Social, and Governance Today
Ms. Musser emphasized that ESG-related risks are becoming more complex and interconnected. For example, the global community is witnessing an increase in natural disasters, which is posing significant challenges to business continuity. These matters are not isolated; they are intricately connected with sustainability, ethics, and long-term resilience.
