AP Anomaly Detection
AP Automation can flag unusual amounts, unrecognized vendor emails, and transactions containing multiple red flags.
In August 2026, Sage Intacct pushed out its 2026 Release 3, and sorting the features that matter to nonprofits from those that don’t takes time most finance teams don’t have.
In a recent webinar, Heather Broberg and Leo Gutierrez, leaders in GRF’s Accounting Technology Services practice, walked through the Q3 2026 highlights for nonprofit finance leaders as well as how GRF extends Sage Intacct beyond the box.
Below is a recap of what they covered.
If you’d rather hear it straight from Heather and Leo, the full 60-minute recording is available here, along with the presentation slide deck.
Release 3 adds several changes aimed at reducing manual processing while strengthening transaction controls.
AP Automation can flag unusual amounts, unrecognized vendor emails, and transactions containing multiple red flags.
Customer refunds now run through the standard AP approval workflow, with a bill and full approval supporting each refund.
Order entry and AR can post multiple invoices and adjustments in a single action using enhanced list views.
Administrators can create authorized sender lists to block documents submitted from incorrect or unauthorized addresses.
The new anomaly column isn't displayed by default. Finance teams will need to create a custom list view in the automated transactions screen to see it.
Inter-entity bill-back is now available at the entity level, not just the top level — which matters for entities in jurisdictions like France, where transactions must be owned locally.
Unlike automated intercompany posting, bill-back generates an actual AP bill on the receiving entity’s books and a matching AR invoice on the other’s, capturing affiliate entity data on the GL posting to support intercompany tracking and automated eliminations at consolidation.
Inter-entity bill-back isn’t on by default; there’s a short setup process, so reach out to Heather if it’s relevant to your organization.
workflow.
Dashboard performance cards have a new Compare To field — current year, current month, prior month, or prior quarter, plus fiscal equivalents — for comparing against historical trends without a separate report.
Reports can also exclude blank pages, so dimension-based reports skip dimensions with no activity. The option appears on General Ledger report pages and the Financial Report Writer’s Filters tab.
Journal entry approvals now have their own box on the GL setup page instead of being buried under journal entries on the All page; you still enable them through Configure GL and use Manage Approvals for outlier detection.
Memorized, recurring, and transaction templates now appear on the All page next to your journal entries, instead of on a separate screen.
Arguably the biggest workflow change, and still in early adopter status while Sage collects feedback. Prepaid expense amortization previously required a standalone module and subscription; it’s now built into accounts payable at no extra cost, and the standalone module will phase out across future releases.
Once a bill posts, Sage builds the schedule and posts each entry going forward, emailing you if one fails.
A new Amortization Forecast Report in AP Subledger Reports ties schedules to your prepaid expense GL account at close.
Sage Collaborate now opens in a fixed side panel, so you can follow conversations without leaving your current list or transaction. Administrators can restrict access, and users get email notifications when a subscription needs attention.
Sage’s lending management solution has moved from beta to general availability in the United States.
The solution covers the loan lifecycle from origination through payoff for revolving and non-revolving loans, with transactions posting in real time.
Leo spent the back half of the session on Velixo, an Excel add-on that connects live to your Sage Intacct data.
Sage Intacct’s report writers are capable, but there’s almost always one report you can’t get right in the platform, so teams export to Excel and reformat by hand.
Velixo skips that cycle. It connects directly to your Sage Intacct instance, pulls in your chart of accounts and dimensions, and lets you filter, drill down, and click any balance through to the underlying GL transactions using standard Excel functionality. It also handles budgeting, with read and write-back to your Sage Intacct budget records.
In the demonstration, Leo showed a custom grant reimbursement invoice that automatically pulls expenditure detail for a specified project and date range. Instead of manually entering every request, the invoice can be populated from the underlying Sage Intacct data.
Heather and Leo go deeper on setup steps, live screenshots, and the Velixo demo in the full recording.
