Biography

Mr. Derengowski has over 19 years of public accounting experience with GRF CPAs & Advisors servicing the nonprofit sector exclusively. He manages audits for a wide variety of nonprofit clients like trade associations, charitable organizations, nongovernmental organizations, private foundations, political action committees and other similar institutions. He frequently travels internationally working with clients to audit federal award programs in accordance with the Uniform Guidance/OMB Circulars.

As a partner, Mr. Derengowski is responsible for all aspects of client service and engagement administration. He interacts with clients and their boards to plan engagements, resolve problems, and suggest procedures to improve the accounting process and internal controls.

Mr. Derengowski is an accredited expert in fraud prevention and detection. He specializes in identifying risk areas, validating financial statements and reviewing field office compliance with headquarters’ policies and procedures for nonprofits with international operations.

Mr. Derengowski oversees the training and mentoring programs within the Firm’s audit practice. In addition, he is actively involved in the Firm’s campus recruiting efforts and oversees the summer audit internship program.
