Biography

Tricia Katebini, CPA, MBA, is a Partner in GRF CPAs & Advisors’ Assurance practice and a nationally recognized leader in nonprofit assurance, audit innovation, and the strategic use of technology in the accounting profession. With nearly two decades of experience serving nonprofit organizations, she advises charities, foundations, associations, private schools, and other tax-exempt entities on complex accounting, auditing, compliance, and governance matters.

Known for combining deep technical expertise with a practical, forward-thinking approach, Tricia helps organizations navigate evolving accounting standards, Uniform Guidance requirements, and operational challenges while identifying opportunities to strengthen internal controls, improve efficiency, and reduce risk. She is particularly passionate about helping organizations and accounting professionals embrace technology and artificial intelligence in ways that enhance audit quality, improve consistency, and allow professionals to focus on higher-value work.

Within GRF, Tricia has led numerous strategic initiatives to modernize the firm’s assurance practice through process improvement, technology adoption, and innovation. Her leadership has helped drive the firm’s transformation of audit methodologies and workflows while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality and professional excellence.

A sought-after national speaker, Tricia frequently presents on nonprofit accounting, audit quality, AI, technology, and leadership at conferences hosted by the AICPA, CPA.com, CPAmerica, CaseWare, MACPA, GWSCPA, and other professional organizations. She is widely recognized for translating complex technical topics into practical, actionable insights that organizations and practitioners can immediately apply.

Tricia actively serves the accounting profession through numerous leadership positions. She is a member of the AICPA Joint Trial Board, serves on the Maryland Association of CPAs Board of Directors, is a member of the Digital CPA Conference Advisory Board, and serves on CaseWare’s Client Advisory Board. Beyond the profession, she serves on the Board of Directors for Shepherd University’s Alumni Association and has dedicated many years to supporting nonprofit organizations through governance, advocacy, and volunteer leadership.

Her leadership and contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including being named to the Forbes 2025 and 2026 Best-in-State CPAs list, being named a 2025 AICPA Global Women to Watch Award, and receiving the 2022 Maryland Association of CPAs Max Teichmann Award, and the 2021 MACPA Woman to Watch Award – Emerging Leader.
