Ms. McKnight has worked in accounting and auditing since 1989, with a primary focus in auditing and consulting for organizations within the nonprofit industry including private voluntary organizations, trade and membership associations, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based entities, museums, private foundations and other charitable institutions. Her responsibilities include managing all phases of the nonprofit audit and consulting engagements, assisting numerous organizations in the development of accounting policies and procedures, and working with Boards of Directors to establish good governance practices. Ms. McKnight works locally, nationally and internationally on behalf of her clients and serves as the firm’s representative to the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center.
As the former director of the audit department, Ms. McKnight oversaw quality control, recruiting, training and development. She frequently writes and presents on various topics to the nonprofit community including OMG Grant Reform: 2 CFR 200 ‘Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards’, keys to a successful audit, minimizing fraud opportunities in nonprofits, the new FASB regulations and others.
Ms. McKnight is a founding member of Women on the Move, GRF’s women’s leadership initiative formalized in 2019.
